dedicated to protecting the environment. They have received a number of awards
for their efforts and dedication to protecting the environment and wildlife. In
2008 they were given a Wildlife Habitat Council's Wildlife at Work certification
for the successful and comprehensive implementation of the wildlife habitat
management program on the 72 acre Spring Gardens facility.
They have also received the Tree Line USA award

to have met certain criteria including annual workers training, tree planting,
quality tree care and public education.
BG&E also has a supplier diversity program. They
have taken time to develop a strategic partnership with a variety of suppliers
so that BG&E are able to deliver a variety of products and services to their
customers. The focus is really on making alliances with small, minority, women
or service of the disabled veteran owned companies.
BG&E offers a number of helpful tips to help
consumers save money including education on what in their home could be causing
their energy bills to be higher. They also offer a few different ways to
be charged for energy consumption. This includes the Time of Use Pricing, which
basically is a fluctuating rate that customer is charged based on usage
during peak times and off peak times during the day and through the year. The
goal of the Time of Price option is to encourage smarter use of energy and
decrease wastage. The rate a customer is charged is based on the wholesale price
at a given time.
