Switch, a Las Vegas-based data center, is teaming up with global asset manager Capital Dynamics to develop a massive solar panel project in Nevada, The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.
Gigawatt 1 will be the largest solar project in the country, generating enough energy to power 1 million houses, according to a statement released by the two companies Wednesday. The companies also claim the project will produce the lowest-priced solar power in the world.
Switch CEO Rob Roy has been working on the project, which has already started construction in Clark County, for the past three years. All phases of construction are expected to begin by 2020.
