Founded in 1917, Met-Ed serves over 560,000 electric customers. Its 3,300 square mile service area includes Adams, Berks, Chester, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Lehigh, Monroe, Montgomery, Northampton, Pike, and York counties.
Met-Ed "Price to Compare"
If you don't sign up with an energy supplier of your choice, Met-Ed will continue to provide a “default” energy service at a rate approved by your state’s public utility commission. These rates are your “Prices to Compare.” You can use them as a comparison tool to help you decide if you can save money by choosing another supplier. If another supplier’s price per kilowatt hour is lower than Met-Ed's “Price to Compare,” you can save the difference by switching. The default rate is typically higher than what you can find if you shop around.
Met-Ed electric rates
These rates include only the cost of producing the electricity. There are additional costs for delivering the energy, which will remain the same whether you sign up with an energy supplier or not. To report power outages or downed power lines, you should call Met Ed's customer service line above.
