About Public Service Electric & Gas

Public Service Electric & Gas Company (PSE&G) is the largest utility in New Jersey, serving both business owners and homeowners since 1903. PSE&G provides reliable electric and natural gas services to 5.1 million customers, which earned them the title of most reliable mi-Atlantic utility company for the 15th year in a row.

As a leader in the New Jersey energy industry, PSE&G is working to put energy efficiency at the forefront of the state’s agenda; PSE&G has invested $400 million to help fund an array of projects, such as bringing energy efficiency to small businesses in Urban Enterprise Zones and creating jobs where they are needed.

Energy efficiency includes green energy usage, so PSE&G started the Solar 4 All program to help build solar farms and supply New Jersey residents with clean, carbon-free power. The program also purchases renewable energy certificates (RECs) to further offset carbon emissions. To learn more about PSE&G, click here.

Why deregulated energy?

The competitive market for deregulated energy in New Jersey helps consumers save money on high quality products and services. National retail suppliers offer a range of energy plans and rates to New Jersey customers, allowing customers to personalize their energy needs. From green energy plans to prepaid options, New Jersey customers can find a budget-friendly plan from one of Choose Energy’s deregulated energy suppliers.

New Jersey’s deregulated energy market has been helping residents and business owners save money on their monthly energy bills for almost 20 years. Prior to deregulation legislation, New Jersey customers could only get their power from local utility companies like PSE&G at a capped rate. Today, customers in New Jersey can purchase deregulated power plans for both electric and natural gas from retail suppliers at a competitive rate.
