In business for more than 140 years, Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas) is the nation’s largest natural gas utility. It delivers natural gas to 20.9 million customers across central and southern California, from Visalia to the Mexican border.
SoCalGas natural gas rates
Residential and commercial customers that do not sign up with an independent natural gas supplier will receive a default variable rate plan. The rates for this plan change monthly based on changes in the energy markets.
SoCalGas "Price to Compare"
This rate is your “Price to Compare.” You can use it as a baseline to help you decide if you can save money by choosing another supplier. If another supplier’s price per therm is lower than the “Price to Compare,” you can save the difference per therm by switching to that supplier. Check out natural gas plans in the SoCalGas area to see if you can find one with a better rate. These rates include only the cost of producing the electricity. There are additional costs for delivering the energy, which will remain the same whether you sign up with an energy supplier or not.
To report a hazard or a gas leak, you can reach SoCalGas at the customer service number listed above.
