Western Massachusetts Electric Co. is a subsidiary of Eversource Energy (formerly Northeast Utilities), which delivers energy to more than 3.6 million electric and natural gas customers in Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Western Massachusetts Electric delivers electricity to over 200,000 customers in western Massachusetts, including the counties of Berkshire, Franklin, Hampden, and Hampshire.
Customers in WMECo’s service area that do not choose a competitive supplier will receive a “Basic Service” electricity plan. The “Basic Service” plan can be fixed- or variable-rate.
Western Massachusetts Electric: Electricity Rates
WMECo customers can easily shop around for electricity plans and compare rates to find the plan that's right for them.
Western Massachusetts Electric "Price to Compare"
These rates are your “Prices to Compare.” You can use them as a comparison tool to help you decide if you can save money by choosing another supplier. If another supplier’s price per kilowatt hour is lower than the “Price to Compare,” you can save the difference per kilowatt hour by switching to that supplier. These rates include only the cost of producing the electricity. There are additional costs for delivering the energy, which will remain the same whether you sign up with an energy supplier or not.
To report power outages or downed power lines, you should call Western Massachusetts Electric's customer service line at the number above.
