The emergency fund will help Texans pay energy bills.

Many Texans will soon find relief as the state’s Public Utility Commission implements a temporary emergency fund for energy bills. As the COVID-19 pandemic impacts the Lone Star state, many are facing difficulties making payments on their utilities.

According to DeAnn Walker, chairman of the commission, reported the fund is meant to provide aid for Texans who have lost their jobs during the pandemic and are having trouble paying their energy bills as a result.
