Gexa Energy offers affordable and flexible options, from free weekend, morning, or night electricity plans to green energy and BOGO plans. Saver Deluxe 12

This is a 100 percent renewable energy plan that offers customers a fixed rate for 12 months. Customers receive a $100 bill credit every month they use between 1,000 and 2,000 kilowatt hours (kWh).

Superb Saver 12

New customers have multiple bill credit offers on this fixed rate plan. Earn $50 for using between 1,500 and 1,999 kWh or $100 when you use between 2,000 and 2,500 kWh. Superb Saver 12 is 100 percent green.

Saver Premium 24

This two-year fixed rate plan offers customers 100 percent renewable energy. Best for customers with high usage, Saver Premium 24 offers a $100 bill credit every month you use at least 2,000 kWh.

Saver Value 12

This 100 percent renewable energy plan offers customers the opportunity to earn bill credits at multiple usage levels: earn $35 for usage between 500 and 999 kWh or $50 for usage between 1,000 and 1,500 kWh.

Saver Eco Plus 12

An eco-friendly, 100 percent green plan, Saver Eco Plus is made for customers with high usage. Use between 1,500 and 1,999 kWh per month and earn a $50 bill credit. Energy usage between 2,000 and 2,500 kWh earns $100.

Types of energy plans

The two main types of energy plans shown in the Choose Energy marketplace are fixed and variable rate plans.

  • Fixed rate plan. The price you pay for energy is set in your contract and does not change.
  • Variable rate plan. The price you pay is tied to the state’s electricity market and fluctuates accordingly.

Within these types of plan, rate structures varying. For example, one fixed rate plan may suit your needs better than a different fixed rate plan, depending on its structure. For a detailed breakdown of possible plan structure, see our energy buying guide.

Credits checks and no deposit plans

Credit checks are a normal part of the energy buying process that we are required to complete before providers will offer you service. Depending on your credit level, some providers will require deposits. We’ll let you know when you shop if you will need to pay a deposit. There are also a few plans that are available without a credit check or a deposit. For more information, see our deposits page.

Switching electricity providers

Switching providers is not as hard as it may seem. If you have a variable electricity plan, you can switch providers whenever you like. If you have a fixed plan, you may need to pay an early termination fee. To avoid this, just switch up to 14 days before your contract ends. Here’s how switching works:

  1. Enter your ZIP code. We’ll show you rates in your area to compare to your current one.
  2. Choose a plan. Sign up over the phone or online. You’ll get a confirmation email and we’ll take it from there.
  3. Enjoy your new rate. Your new provider will handle the switch. There is no need to cancel with your old provider.

Moving electric service

If you move during your contract term, you will not need to pay an early termination fee. This allows you to stay with your current provider or switch to a new one. Shop for new plans up to 90 days before you move. It is likely your new home has a smart meter, which means your service will be activated remotely, no technician visit needs.
