To ensure that our customers are able to choose a great energy provider, Choose Energy compiled a scoring model to review top electric providers in Texas. The Choose Energy reviews model is based on unbiased and quantitative criteria to ensure provider scores remain objective.

- Satisfaction guarantee: 0
In the customer service category, satisfaction guarantee was ranked on a yes or no basis. While Green Mountain faltered there, the company earned back points with high marks on the state Power to Choose website’s scorecard, here.
Online accessibility: 5 out of 5

- Access to usage alerts & trends: 5
Online bill pay, online chat, and usage alerts combined to earn Green Mountain five out of five in online accessibility. All three factors were ranked on a yes or no basis.
Business history: 5 out of 5
- Years in business: 5
- Better Business Bureau accreditation: 5
Green Mountain Energy has an A+ rating from the BBB alongside accreditation. The BBB is a paid accreditation that we’ve used here as a measure of brand awareness and reputation. An NRG brand, Green Mountain has 19 years of business under its belt.
