Electricity rates FAQ

How is signing up for a plan different in the three states TriEagle Energy serves?

In Texas, you must select a retail electric provider; in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, you may purchase your electricity supply from your utility. But in the latter two states, you should make sure you can’t get a better deal by leaving your utility.

Will I have to pay a deposit to begin service?

Not necessarily. Your provider will run a credit check to determine whether a deposit is required. You do have some options if you don’t want to pay a deposit.

My power went out. Who do I call?

Your utility company will continue to maintain and repair your power lines and other electrical infrastructure. Contact it directly when there’s an outage or you see damage.

Do the rates you show include everything?

In Texas, rates shown by Choose Energy include all monthly charges. In deregulated areas outside of Texas, we only show the rate for your electricity supply – not transmission and other utility charges.
