About Stream Energy

Stream Energy is a retail energy provider and has operated in the deregulated Texas market since 2005. Stream Energy is headquartered in Dallas, Texas, although the company has expanded its service area to include PennsylvaniaMarylandNew JerseyNew York and Washington D.C.

Understand direct selling energy companies

In 2014, Stream Energy merged its retail energy arm with its multi-level marketing division, Ignite. Today, the company functions as a direct selling energy company with services sold by independent Stream Energy associates. Representatives sell electricity as well as natural gas supply to residential customers for which they earn residual income monthly. By recruiting salespeople to work under them, associated can also earn from their sales, creating additional revenue streams through a pyramid-shaped commission system.

Stream Energy offers green plans

Green energy plans allow you to help fund renewable energy projects, such as those powered by wind and solar, just by paying your supply bill. When you sign up for a green energy plan, you can elect to allocate 100% of your bill toward your provider’s purchase of Renewable Energy Certificates. RECs are tradable certificates that represent proof one megawatt hour of electricity was generated from a renewable energy source and fed into the power grid.

Stream Energy offers green energy plans in many service areas through their Green and Clean energy products. If you’re interested in supporting renewable energy projects, an associate can help you find available plans in your area.

Stream Energy plans

Stream Energy offers various plans with different rate structures, such as fixed- and variable-rate. With a fixed-rate plan, you can lock in the price you pay per kilowatt hour for the duration of your plan. For example, if you sign up for a 12-month fixed-rate plan, you can be sure to pay the same rate for all twelve months. A variable-rate plan does not offer price security and can change rates as early as once a month. However, with a variable-rate plan, you may pay a lower price per kilowatt hour if the wholesale cost of energy drops.
