Cirro Energy is committed to providing Texans with more electricity choices and more savings. They currently serve about 150,000 households and offer both long- and short-term electricity plans. They also only offer fixed-rate plans and no variable or teaser electricity rates. Cirro even offers plans sourced from 100% green or renewable energy.
Priding themselves on their superior customer service, Cirro offers smart money-saving plans, online and mobile account management, and convenient payment options with no hidden fees.
In 2008, Cirro was acquired by Dominion Resources and then in 2014, Cirro became part of the NRG family, joining a few of our other energy suppliers including Green Mountain Energy and Reliant Energy. As a subsidiary of NRG, Cirro can now offer their customers the reliability and savings from one of the country’s largest energy companies with the personalized service of a local small business.
Since they are based in Dallas/Fort Worth, Plano specifically, and have sales offices in Houston, Cirro Energy engages in a number of philanthropic and charitable activities in that area. They have also donated over $150,000 to non-profit community organizations such as the Casa de Esperanza Children’s shelter and The Children Advocacy Center of Collin County.
What is the difference between an energy supplier and my utility company?
The utility owns and operates the way electricity is transmitted and distributed to consumers’ homes and businesses. When you lose power at your home or business and you have questions, you should contact your local utility.
The energy supplier or provider closely monitor electricity prices and purchase electricity for its customers based on current market prices. Suppliers then sell this power to consumers to help save money on the generation and transmission service portion of our local utility bill. This is also how consumers are able to choose renewable sources such as wind power.
